Chapter Eleven

Nikolas walked through the door of Elizabeth's bedroom.  "Wow.  She looks so
beautiful when she sleeps.  Wait, who's that?  But he-he's dead.  Faison shot
him.  Stefan told me…It can't be.  I have to tell Stefan," Nikolas thought.
He turned around and left the building.  Once he was outside he pulled out
his cell phone and called Stefan.  "Hi, it's Nikolas…This is really
important…I just went to surprise Liz and I saw her and Lucky sleeping…Yes I
think I can tell if it really was my own brother…Well he must still be alive
because I know I saw him there…Do whatever you have to do.  I can't loose
Liz.  I need her.  I just want Lucky out of the picture…Fine.  Good bye."
···
Lucky woke up to a knock at the front door.  Before he got up he looked over
at Elizabeth.  "She looks beautiful when she sleeps," He thought to himself.
He walked to the door and looked through the eye hole at his father.  He knew
that was who it was going to be, but was being safe.  He opened the door and
let Luke in.

"So what is so important that you needed me to hear?"

"Well I'll go wake Elizabeth up.  Then we will tell you."
···
"He is what?  No, he can't be alive.  He was shot twice," Faison exclaimed.

"Nikolas saw him with Liz.  I think he would recognize his brother.  Besides
I have been waiting to hear something on the news about Lucky's reappearance
or his real death, but there has been nothing," Stefan explained.

"They must have the police after me.  I better be careful.  I promise I will
get Lucky.  I'm going to put someone on them right now to watch them.  Then I
will kill him when the timing is perfect.  Your son will have his Elizabeth
back soon."
···
"So you both think Nikolas is in on this?"  Luke questioned.

"Yes," Liz said beginning to regret every second she had ever spent with
Nikolas.

"Well I never liked him.  I always told you, Lucky, to never trust a
Cassadine.  So you can't stay here since Nikolas has been calling and knows
you are here Liz.  I'll drive both of you up to our cabin out of town," Luke
explained.

"Great, but can we make one stop on the way, I'm starved.  I'm dying for some
ribs and cheese fries," Lucky begged.

"Ok.  We'll stop quickly."

"Wait before we leave, I have to call Nikolas and tell him I'm sick and can't
meet him tomorrow for lunch.  We were meeting with Courtney to finalize the
wedding plans.  But I'll tell him I'm too sick to make it," Liz said.
···
"Well Stefan said that Faison promised not to hurt Liz.  Maybe the wedding
will still go as planned," Nikolas thought.  His telephone was ringing, but
he was afraid to answer, afraid it was Liz calling to break his heart.
"Hello," he answered without enthusiasm.

"Hi, it's me," Liz answered, "I think I caught the flu.  I'm feeling awful.
So I'll have to cancel for lunch tomorrow."

"I'll call Courtney.  Maybe the next day we can finalize the wedding plans."

Liz shivered at the thought of actually marrying him.  "Let's see how I feel
tomorrow.  I'm going to sleep now.  So I'll talk to you tomorrow."

"Sure.  Liz, I love you."

Elizabeth didn't know what to say so she hung up the phone.

Nikolas sighed deeply as he heard the dial tone.  He had definitely lost her.
 There would be no wedding.

Chapter Twelve

"Ah.  So they are leaving town.  They think I'll never find them.  But as
always I'm one step ahead of them.  I know exactly where they are going,"
Faison said aloud to an empty room filled monitors.  Every monitor showed a
different angle of Port Charles.  He watched Luke's car as the stopped for
take out dinner and as they drove to the cabin.  "They are fools to think
that cabin will keep them safe from me.  Nothing can keep them safe from me."
···
In the cabin, Lucky and Liz had just finished eating their favorite dinner.
They remained at the table staring into each other's eyes.  They were
immensely happy.  Liz broke the silence by saying, "Let's go to bed.  It's
getting late and I want to fall asleep in your arms."

The couple walked hand and hand to the bedroom.  Lucky stripped down to his
boxers, that was how he always slept.  Elizabeth changed into her own
pajamas.  They climbed into the bed.  Lucky put his arms around Liz and she
rested her head on his chest.  "Lucky, I wish we could stay just like this
for the rest of our lives,"  Liz whispered.

"Well we do have the rest of our lives to spend together.  We don't ever have
to be apart again."

"That sounds so wonderful.  I don't ever want to be separated from you again."

They both fell asleep in those same positions.
···
Of the three guards watching Lucky and Liz, only one was still watching.  The
other two had gone to take a nap.  They usually slept in intervals at night
time.  The remaining guard was so exhausted he felt as though he could fall
asleep standing up.
···
"Well, well, well.  Now is my chance.  The lights are off and those stupid
guards have fallen asleep," Faison thought to himself as he walked to the
front door of the cabin.  He silently entered through the front door.  He
could see the remains from a romantic meal lying on the table.  "Young and
innocent love.  Those two don't have a clue what is coming to them."

Faison reached for the gun in his coat pocket and held it outward.  He walked
towards the bedroom.  "Such innocent young love.  I am about to ruin their
lives.  But I won't bother waking them to tell them."  He held out the gun
and fired two shots at the sleeping couple.  Both shots aimed at just one of
the two.

"What the hell!"  Lucky gasped as he sat up in bed.  He noticed Faison across
the room and Elizabeth lying motionlessly next to him in bed.

Chapter Thirteen

He held back his emotions of what may have happened to his Elizabeth.
Instead he reaches for the gun that Luke keeps in the drawer next to the bed.
He grasps it in his hand as if he was about to kill Faison with one swift
motion.  "Now you Lucky, will have to live the life your sweet Elizabeth
lived for the past three years.  It must be hard, you two were so young and
so in love and you have managed to loose each other twice.  How are you…"
Faison's words were cut short by the gunshot he heard behind him.  He
collapsed to the floor.  Dead.  The way he deserved to be.

Lucky's hand dropped the gun onto he bed as he leaned over to Elizabeth.  He
ran his hands over her face with a tear running down his cheek.  He knew he
didn't even have to check her pulse.  He had lost his love.  "Elizabeth, I'm
so sorry.  I love you.  I love you Now and Forever…But, there is one way we
can be together forever," Lucky breathed.  His hand found the gun lying on
the bed.  He grasped it around his fingers and hand.  He brought it towards
his head.

"Lucky, Lucky," a voice shouted from the next room.  It was getting closer
and closer to him repeating the words, "Lucky, Lucky."  Luke entered the
bedroom to see a sight he never in his worst dreams ever wanted to see again.
Lucky was sitting on the bed with one arm wrapped around Liz and the other
holding a gun to his own head.  "Lucky, stop.  Please put the gun down.  At
least let me talk to you first," Luke said attempting to reason with his son.

Lucky lowered the gun and said, "Dad, she's gone.  He killed her.  How can I
live without her.  She's all I ever wanted.  She's my perfect Elizabeth."

"Oh, Lucky.  I'm so sorry.  I'm so sorry."
···
"And now our top story for tonight.  One local thought to be dead has
reappeared from hiding.  His kidnapper, Caesar Faison is now dead.  Lucky
Spencer has been found and is alive and well.  Unfortunately on more
individual, Elizabeth Webber, has also been found dead.  More details after
this."

"No, no.  He wasn't supposed to hurt Elizabeth.  She was innocent.  Not my
love Elizabeth," Nikolas shouted in a rage.  He jumped from his seat and ran
to the table and scribbled two notes.  He left them on the table and ran out
the door.

One note left a detailed account of his and Stefan's involvement with Faison.
The other was for Lucky, it was an apology.  He wrote how he was sorry this
all began and he was sorry he ever tried to take Liz away from him.  But he
was mostly sorry Liz was gone.  Faison was never supposed to touch her.  In
both letters, he told that he had left on the first plane out of Port Charles
in hope to vanish off the face of the Earth.

Ten years later

Lucky married Emily Quartermane about five years after the loss of Elizabeth.
He moved on as Elizabeth would have wanted.  The two had a three year old
daughter named after Lucky's first love and Emily's best friend.  Lucky has
plans to meet his first love again in heaven.  He has forgiven Nikolas,
however, Nikolas has not returned to Port Charles yet.  Nikolas is no longer
wanted by the police because Stefan admitted Nikolas had no real connection
to Faison, just knew Lucky was alive.  We all know Cassadine's love to steal
Spencer women so maybe Nikolas' return is inevitable.

Author's note-Many of you are probably very angered at the outcome of this
fanfiction, but this is a soap opera we are talking about and there are no
happy endings in soap operas.  Even though Lucky appears to be happy in the
ten years later, he won't be for long.  Just so you all know Nikolas comes
back and steals Emily away.  Lucky also loses custody of their daughter.  He
is just never happy or lucky again.
