The Return - Chapter 1

by: Roy

The isolation was starting to get to Lucky. Especially these weeks with Faison gone. At least Faison played mind games with him. Showing him pictures of Elizabeth and Nicholas. Telling him that she had moved on and that Lucky was nothing to her now. Telling him that Laura was going to marry Stefan and that Stefan was going to adopt Lulu. That Luke was drinking himself into oblivion. Lucky didn’t know what to believe, and it was agonizing for him to hear. But even with all that, at least Faison also dropped hints as to why he was holding Lucky and what his plans were. The idiot guarding him now wasn’t equipped to play mind games. But he had gotten some good information from this guy. Like he had no idea when Faison would be back, that they all referred to Faison as “Him”, and that there was some classy, rich older woman in on the scheme with Faison. Lucky figured that this had to be Helena Cassadine. That made this whole thing make at least a little more sense.

Slowly Lucky had been devising an escape plan. But he had to put it into motion before Faison got back. He finally decided that tonight was the night. When his guard came in to bring his dinner and turned to go, Lucky surprised him with a quick karate chop to the neck. It worked! The guy went down. Lucky quickly took his uniform, cell phone and remote to the door. He took the guard’s handcuffs then and put them on him. Then he got him into his bed, his back to the camera. He took some extra sheets and tied him up, then covered him up. He stepped back to view his work. “A pretty good decoy”, he thought. He quickly put on the guy’s uniform and took a look at himself in the mirror. He knew his chances of passing as a guard on looks alone were pretty slim. He’d better be ready to talk fast. He put on the guard’s sunglasses and hat and then took one last look around and headed out.

Soon he came upon another guard at the gate to the compound. “How’s it going?” Lucky walked confidently up to the guard. The guard frowned and studied him.

“What are you doing out here?” The guard was suspicious.

“He just called and said to have you take me into town.” Lucky had no idea which “town” that might be, but figured that was the best way to find out where he was.

“We can’t leave our posts, you know that. Who’s going to guard the kid?” the guard is still unsure of what’s going on.

“Look, the kid’s asleep. And he’s not going anywhere anyway. Do you want to argue with Him? Here, give Him a call.” Lucky took out the cell phone and handed it to the guard. “If you don’t want to take me, just let me have the jeep. You can explain it to Him later.

“OK, OK, but this better be on the up and up,” the guard and Lucky got into his jeep and headed into town. Lucky kept his head turned away from the guard, and studied his surroundings trying to figure out where he was. To his surprise he saw a sign that says “Port Charles 10 miles”. He’s been 10 miles from home all along!

When they reached Port Charles, the guard asked, “Where does He want you to go?”

“The docks will be just fine. Let me out there.” Lucky was relieved to be in Port Charles so quickly. Now he could make sure Elizabeth was OK and get her to safety before anyone figured out he was gone. They reached the docks and the jeep stopped. “Thanks,” Lucky said as he got out of the jeep. “See you later.” The jeep sped away.

Lucky couldn’t believe he was home. He looked around and took deep breaths. Ah, home. But there was still much work to do. He had to make sure Elizabeth was OK.
