The jewel shards have been stolen. Inuyasha and the gang are in chaos. The thief has seemingly disappeared. Kagome is having trouble sensing the shards. Inuyasha is forced to use desperate measures. He knows one of two demons that may be able to help him. She was an old enemy but perhaps she would help him. Perhaps the Fate Sisters would help him. But these demons are dangerous. No one dares ask any favors of these demons, especially the one Inuyasha knows. But Inuyasha is a stubborn half demon. So he and the gang travel to a secluded lake.
The demons who Inuyasha seeks are known for their power. There reputations proceed them. They are very solitary and no one really knows about them other than their reputations. They are known as the Fate Sisters since neither of them have family and they are loyal to each other as if they were family. They are also named this for the ability to seal the fate of their opponents.
One, Nami, is a water demon. She may look harmless and cute, but you could not be any more wrong. She is the warrior spirit of the two. Although her power is over water, her spirit is very fiery. She will fight at the least provocation. She uses any method of combat, but prefers either her hands or magic. And anyone unfortunate to anger Nami has never really returned in one piece to tell the tale.

The second demon, Kasumi, is a mystical fox demon. Like her best friend Nami, she may look cute, but she is lethal. Although she is also a warrior, she is the voice of reason between the two. She has an explosive temper kept under wraps and uses swift and elegant moves to defeat her opponent. The only being alive to have seen her true power is Nami.

The Fate Sisters are waiting for Inuyasha's arrival. They know something powerful drives the half-demon, but they are unable to place it. They calmly wait for their new opponent to show himself.
