Toby scored in the latter stages with a headed goal direct from a corner. 18/11 Odiham 5:2 WHLRFC Scorers: Ade & Clint MOtM: Ritchie Team: Dean, Dave B, Nick, Toby, Neil, Geordie, Clint, Ritchie, Liam, Ross (Jason) Ade A screamer of an own goal by Toby headed into the top right hand corner opened the floodgates and Odiham found themselves 5:0 up before Jason replaced Ross. This had a positive impact and it was Jason's cross from the by line that Ade managed to get in front of the keeper and lift the ball over his body to score. Jason was involved in the second goal as he passed to Ade who dummied it and let it Clint run in the take the ball. The goalie dived to Clint's feet but as they both lay on the ground Clint managed to get a toe end to it to pass it into the goal. |

25/11 WHLRFC 2:1 Taran Scorers: Ritchie & Geordie MotM: Ritchie The day started with a role call and then a phone call to anybody who could help make up the numbers. The problem was solved once Dave LS had been releaved of reffing duties he was able to make his long awaited 500th club appearance. Geordie managed to get the ball in the net early but the new ref stated that it hadn't crossed the line although it clearly had and jason had a direct free kick well saved by the keeper at his bottom left hand corner. Later on the right hand side Neil failed to clear when under pressure and simply played in the Taran winger who crossed to leave a tap in for their striker. As half time approached Neil put in a cross that was cleared to the edge of the box whereupon Ritchie hit a rasping left foot volley in the corner of the net. In the first few minutes of the 2nd half Geordie found himself wide on the right and crossed for the waiting forwards. He managed to spoon his effort and the result was that it cleared the keeper and rested into the top corner. WH had to survive two late Taran attacks one effort was ruled out by Scissors who had come to watch and ended up as lino who told the ref the finish had come off the hand of the striker and the other was saved at the feet of the forward by an extremely hungover Dean feeling the worse following his birthday celebrations. Team: Dean, Nick, Liam, Toby, Dave LS, Neil, Geordie, Jason, Ritchie, Ade, Clint |

2/12 Rangers OB 5:1 WHLRFC Scorer: Ade MotM: Jason A superb start as in the first minute a throw from Ritchie was met by Ade on the head to finish within. As the half proceeded Toby scored but the ref said it had not crossed the line. A number of good chances were then wasted. As per normal. Then Nick gave away a free kick on the edge of the box, which appeared to all but the ref to be a clean tackle. The result from the kick was a direct finish low to Dean's left. Nick was then fortunate not to get pulled up for conceding a penalty. As the second half started WH pressure was continous but chances were again missed by the bucket load. Rangers got away twice in the first half hour and scored on both occasions. As WH chased the game they continued to miss chances and Rangers broke three times more and scored two of them. A thrashing in the result book but with a bit more care and luck it could have been a simple win for WH. Team: Dean, Nick, Liam, Toby, Craig, Neil, Geordie, Jason, Ade, Clint, Ritchie. |

9/12 WHLRFC 2:2 Chineham Res Scorers: Clint & Craig MotM: Geordie As a team performance it was easily the best of the season with all of the team playing their hardest and looking like a unit. That said most of the early play was dictated by CR. At approximately the 25 minute mark the WH created their first attack as Ritchie set Clint away on the left hand side of the box. Clint drove the ball wide of the keeper and it just crossed the line before Jason slid in to make sure. CR soon replied with a drive from outside of the box which clipped the inside of the post to narrowly beat an outstretched Ade WH's determined performance continued into the second half as the ball arrived from the left into the box and was met by Craig. His first attempt from six yards was parried by the keeper but he could only return the ball to Craig who scored with his second attempt. Both sides then missed a very presentable chance each. CR striking over as Ade dived at his feet and Clint rounding the keeper but not leaving enough space to cut it into the goal. WH continued to defend resolutely with one particularly notable sliding challenge in the box from a sober Nick denying the forward as he was about to let loose. Then with the last kick of the game the CR midfielder striked a beauty from 25 yards into the top corner of the goal. The game was also notable for 3 new signings for the club that should see it in good sted this season. Team: Ade, Nick, Liam, Toby, Craig, Neil, Geordie, Lee (Mark), Ritchie (Rob), Clint, Jason |
