| My name is Michael , Mick to friends. I was born in 1950 Which makes me the ripe old age of fifty. Born and raised locally I have seen many changes to this area. I was educated in the village until 1961, when on passing the “11 Plus” I was packed off to Grammer School at Shirebrook.After various jobs and a spell with 3WFR both at home and abroad, I returned to the place that will always be home. I have been married twice and have one daughter from my first marriage. .I come from a long established local family, and it is this I think that has given me the intrest in local history and geneology.
