The windows, these windows in the south wall of the church, owe their existance to the generosity of a Mr. Charles Basseldine. Mr Basseldine was a major benefactor of the church in the 18th century. These windows were a gift to the church, as was the wall in which they are set; a plaque on the wall gives the date as being 1714.This was only the first of many gifts from this remarkable man. In 1720, he had the church porch rebuilt!
The Decalogue, this picture was also a gift from the redoubtable Mr. Basseldine, given to the church in 1724, it shows the Decalogue, with Moses and Aaron .
The following year 1725, Charles Basseldine, gave another painting to the church, the subject of this being The Ascension.
Before being laid to rest, in the chancel of the church which he clearly loved, on 23rd March 1736,Charles Basseldine also founded a school, and left a trust for the poorest of the village.
