This was my introduction to the English Pig Breeders Shows

1. This was my introduction to the UK Pig Breeding scene.

In 2004 I was asked to Judge at the Great Yorkshire Show.

Being a Berkshire breeder I was asked to judge that breed. Though not as strong as many Berkshire class's in NZ it was a great introduction to the English type. I have seen North American and Australian Berkshires and I must say the English animal is the closest to the New Zealand breed.

My next introduction to English judging was at Westmorland Show

in 2006. Here I judged 76 entries of all breeds. Very much

like a New Zealand show and NZ weather. It rained all day and an

umbrella was really handy but my suit shrunk, well that's my story.

My Supreme Champion was a Middle White exhibited by Geoff

Parker.

My next appointment was Bath and West Show in 07

• Even though I only had three class's to Judge it was tough.
• It was the All Breeds Pairs and I had to place them from first to eleventh.
• A Middle white pair caught my eye but the first four were very even.
