An Old Hippie Song

I saw an old Hippie in his new Armani suit

Driving his new Mercedes Benz

He pulled up front to the new Commerce Bank

With his leather brief case he went in

He said hello to his old Hippie friends

Got his three grand and headed out again

Walks outside stopped and looked around

Got in his Mercedes and headed out of town

I saw and old Hippie she works at the store

She doesn't come down here and protest anymore

She's got two teenagers that she tries to case

I remember that time she wore butterflies on her face

Now she heads home at nine after work in the dark

Sits down in front of the TV and dreams of the park

Takes care of her man who works late at night

She drifts off to sleep and leaves on the lights

Now we don’t have peace and love anymore

A full moon risen knocking at our suburban doors

We've got a better life got that big money roll

We've got kids killing kids so we reap what we sow

Maybe its time we get back to the fight

We give up our freedom we give up our rights

We've abandon our children for that big money roll

We've got kids killing kids so we reap what we sow

Repeat first verse
