Spirited White Riot denied at the death
White Riot 7-8 Spina Longa Lepers

White Riot begun this game against a very strong Spina Longa Lepers team without key defender Aled Rees but this week had the focus to really take the game to the opposition. It was a close fough game throughout with neither team leading by more than 2 goals at any one time. Both teams played with high technical skill and found each other very difficult to break down, but on such a small pitch, the goals were always going to come. Many of White Riot's goals came from good link play between senior players Robert Kinsey and Geraint Havard and a good all round battling display. However Spina Longa Lepers were always in the hunt and any mistake made by White Riot was cruelly punished. As a spectacle, this game was one for the purists as the tempo regularly dropped as both teams struggled to break each other down.
With 2 minutes remaining on the clock, White Riot pulled out a 2 goal lead only to be on the recieving end of a series of bizzare refereeing decisions and nysteriously high amount of injury time added on to the end of the game. Not taking anything away from the Lepers who battled hard until the death and fully deserved their victory. Captain Geraint Havard after the game "I am very proud of the effort the boys put in today, after the shambles of the past few weeks. I hope the boys keep this up as this is the minimum standard that we should be playing at. I have to say, today the referee was absolutely abysmal. I hate to comment on referees, as being a former referee myself I know how hard it can be when you are the man in the middle, but today, the ref was a farce. He knew very little of the rules and was extremely inconsistent with his decisions. I felt we deserved the win, although I'm sure the opposition would dissagree. They left with the points and in our position we cannot afford to be robbed by the ref after such a big performance."

Reason: After failing to tackle someone, he fell to the ground and crawled half the length of the pitch trying to ankle tap the attacking player and even failed to do that
