From The Basketball Court To Homecoming Court On the court, Kristian is The White Rose, complete with thorny defense, sweet ballhandling and an outside shot softer than a bed of roses. Off the court, The White Rose carries herself with the elegance of royalty. Well, she did for one day anyway. Kristian was elected to the 2000 Homecoming Court at El Dorado High School. She was one of the sophomore maids on the court, which was voted on by the Wildcat football team. "I consider it a big honor to be chosen to represent my sophomore class," said Kristian. Fittingly, Kristian participated in the parade and ceremonies in a beautiful purple gown, a classy formal hairdo and a black eye. She was hit with an inadvertant elbow in practice during the week and sported a nice shiner for a few days. Kristian did not want to cover the injury with makeup. In the end, however, clearer heads prevailed, sort of. "I was so proud of my black eye because when I got hit I still made my shot," said Kristian. "I didn't want to cover my eye because I wanted everyone to see me like that rather than in a dress. But, my mom had more say so than me so I had to put a little makeup on. What was so funny is that it didn't cover it much at all." |
