Jor-El sacked!
16/02/00 - Martin 'Jor-El' Crowdy (left) the most successful manager in the clubs history was dramatically sacked today. Despite the team's recent good form, a unanimous verdict was reached by the clubs officials to replace him. It was felt that the team had failed to reach the standards that Crowdy had set so early in his managerial career. He was lacking in commitment to the club. However, it was also decided that Crowdy should be kept on as a player. When informed about this decision in the Alma Inn, a stunned Crowdy simply replied "I'm not bothered".
Patterson 'New Manager'
16/02/00 - After the sacking of Martin Crowdy, veteran midfield player Tony Patterson is installed as manager. Patterson wasted no time in implementing his tactical prowess as the Tide cruised to a 5-1 victory against Arundales. In undoubtedly their best display of the season, the Tide booked their place in the playoffs for the league championship and just one point from the next game against Roscoe Reds will guarantee a best ever top three finish.
Tide finish joint top
23/02/00 - The Tide completed their league fixtures tonight with a 6-4 victory over Roscoe Reds. Tide to face title favourites
28/02/00 - The Tide have been drawn against FC Pindar the title favourites, in the play-off semi-finals. The game will kick off at 20.40pm Wednesday 1st March. This is bad news for the Tide as FC Pindar are the only team to take points off them this season after a 7-0 thumping in late January.
Tide glorious after ref cheats them out of victory
01/03/00 - The White Tide made it to their second championship final in three years after defeating FC Pindar 2-1 on penalties after extra time. The Tide avenged their 7-0 drubbing by FC Pindar earlier in the season but only after some dodgy decisions by the referee. With just two minutes remaing the Tide lead 4-3 but the ref took it upon himself to award FC Pindar a goal that never was. A shot from a tight angle into the side netting, 4-4 according to the ref who's performance can only be described as shambolic. After falling behind in extra time the Tide faught back for a very deserved victory. The Tide are now just one game away from championship glory. They meet Silver Trumpet in the final next Wednesday 08/03/00 and have the mental advantage as they are the only team to beat them this season.
Tide are runners-up again
08/03/00 - The White Tide finished runners-up yet again after losing 2-4 to Silver Trumpet in their second final in three years. With goals from Carl Creaser and Gary Maw, the Tide were unlucky to lose and were again cheated by the ref. The referee gave a goal which clearly never crossed the line after bouncing off the underside of the crossbar. However finishing runners-up was still a triumph for the Tide who were not expected to reach the final when the season began.

Anyway its August now and the tide will be giving it some really hard training in two weeks as the enter their gruelling training schedule when they take on the might of Scarborough's hilly climbs and deep valley's begining on Sunday 26th. Once again its last man standing. Training will commence at about 1:30pm probably at the Stressa.
