Our Toddler Club was started in 1991 by Westbury Park Methodist Church with the aim of offering a place where carers and toddlers from the local community could meet together and gain mutual support in a caring Christian environment.
It provides a place to relax and make friends with others caring for young children. It is an integral part of the church's work among young families.
The Toddler Club meets on the ground floor of Westbury Park Methodist Church. We have the use of three good sized rooms. The largest room has space for the ride-on toys and other physical activities. One carpeted room is reserved for the babies while the other has quieter activities for the slightly older children, including books, puzzles, small world toys, and construction sets.
We finish the morning all together with a story and music time from 11.10am led by staff from White Tree Preschool.
The Club meets every Tuesday and Friday from 10.00 - 11.30am in term time, with occasional sessions during school holidays if there is demand for them.
The people who use it run the Toddler Club. Preschool staff will oversee the setting out of toys but all carers are asked to assist in clearing away at the end of the morning. Toys are checked on a regular basis and replaced where necessary.
An informal committee of carers, staff and volunteers organise fund raising and social events as required. New members are always needed and welcomed.
All local toddlers with their carers are welcome; there is no need to book, just drop in.
