| Animal guides or Totems and are, are not a part of the wiccan traditions. Which means that they can or cannot be part of wiccan traditions. I feel that the ones who do not are turly missing out on a wonderful experience are not reaching their full potential.Most commonly they are deeply ingrained in the history of the history of native americans, Shamans and other tribal organization and traditions, but devloping a close relationship with such a powerful energy is also benifical to the witch. Remember the old adages: clever as the fox strong as an ox ect? prehaps you need camouflage -- then ask brother fox for assistance. If you seek wisdome ask the eagle. the lynx knows the art of keeping secrects and the swan guides one int dream time. the panther is a good protective animal,though she does have a sarcasitc layed back nature. Power animals can guide and protect you into the spirt world and in your dreams. tehy can also assist you in the walking state as well. ask wolf for assistance she is a great teacher. animal guides are not limted to mammals and birds. children can be taught to work with animal guides and have great success with them. the act of honoring an animal is not an act of worship.it is the acknowldgement for their power and being as brothers or sisters of the entire universe somtimes it is best to leave an offering such as the animals favortie food, burning insecnes also very good way to call upon them. Be sure to thank them when they help you. |
