Kris's Career

-Started playing hockey in the Sicamous Minor Hockey Association, where he also played Pee Wee and Bantam hockey

-Won Provincial “A” tournament in Pee Wee hockey

-Was drafted by Calgary in 1996 , 1st round, 3rd overall in the WHL Bantam Draft

-Played with Team Pacific at the 1998 Under 17 World Challenge

-Won a gold medal with Canada's National Under 18 Team at 1998 Four Nations Under 18 Tournament

-Missed games due to a bout of Mono toward the end of the reg. season and playoff.

-Won the Presidents Cup with the Calgary hitmen as WHL championships..the team made it to the Memorial Cup finals but lost in OT to the Ottawa 67’s

-Was Drafted by Washington at the 1999 NHL entry draft, went to training camp, played in exhibition games, and was sent back to the hitmen for another year

-He was invited to the 2000 WJC, but had to pull out due to a deep thigh contusion

-Broke a finger toward the start of the 2000 playoffs, missed the majority of the playoffs, but came back in the last few games as the Hitmen ultimatly lost to the Kooteney Ice.

-Kris was again invited to the WJC August Evaluation Camp in the summer of 2000

-Participated in the Capital's rookie training camp in July.

-Participated in the WJC Evaluation Camp in early August in Calgary, Alberta.

-Went to the Capitals training camp in September.

-October 5,2000 Kris plays first NHL game

-October 24, 2000 Kris is sent back to his Junior team, the Calgary Hitmen

-October 31, 2000 Kris is named Captain of the Calgary Hitmen
