Injuries took their toll on Leclaire who before this season was neck and neck with Blackburn as the top-ranked goalie in the 2001 draft.
Leclaire's skills are way above average, combining great puck control, agility, and competitiveness and style to succeed. There is one area that needs work and that's his skating. He looks to have all the talent in the world to succeed in the NHL.
Leclaire's ranking in this year's draft is open to interpretation and could go higher than Blackburn. Of concern is the fact that he lost his starting job in the QMJHL playoffs.
