Inspirations
As an amateur
It’s bewildering what they say
About how many things should inspire you
At first you don’t believe them
Because to you, your life is boring
Nothing significant has happened in it
Why would anyone want to hear about it?
But then things change
You understand what they’ve been saying all along
You realize now about all your childhood memories
That don’t have to be significant
As long as they are good and you learn from them
From which you can capture moments
Most of which aren’t really from your early days at all
But actually happening at the moment you write about them
You realize that what they said was true, although not entirely
Meaning you don’t write exactly what happens
And sometimes nearly the opposite of what happens
But it still inspired you
And you’re so amazed
At how things are, and how they’ve changed
That it’s still just as bewildering, but for different reasons
So you just keep writing
Anyway
