Sunday was a great day for flying with two very special flights being made from the club. Robert Ziegler made his first solo flight after a two-year absence from the club. Peter Robinson the club’s chief flying instructor made his 2000th flight. A 20-minute flight made by Peter Robinson was the longest flight of the day of day. Peter Page managed the highest flight of 2400 feet. Adrian Faulks also managed a couple of good flights on a day characterized by its lack of thermals.

 The club experimented with extended lunch runs. An extended length of the runway was used and a longer cable laid. The cable is used to pull the cable the higher the glider goes. The results were very promising and club pilot Peter Page made a launch height of 2050 feet. The club is confident that with the right wind conditions even higher launches can be achieved. If you would like to go for a flight in the clubs two seater aircraft with an instructor the club operates from 11am on Sundays about 25 km from town on the Port Augusta Rd.
