8/8/01 - 6.28pm My forearms are sore. A group of about 25 kids came through today, and of course they all wanted to be spun on the gyroscope. Spinning about a dozen kids in a row can get very tiring, which was evident by the fact that I was sweating copiously. Damn freakishly hot winter days. I'm not complaining though, I enjoyed today. Call me corny, but it's really satisfying seeing all the kids happy and smiling. That was pretty corny actually. After work, I bumped into Ben and Olivia outside South City, and we had a bit of a yarn. And I saw Claire from a distance heading into South City. It was a see Theatre Company people bonanza! On the way to work and on the way home after work, I noticed some advertising schemes which caught my interest. One I noticed was at a pet store across from Science Alive called "Funky pets & aquariums", I think. They had a dog barking mix-tape blasting through speakers, which carried the strange cacophony across the big fresh car park. It was like these dogs were rapping. Very cool, in a weird kind of way. The one I saw on the way home was a new family restaurant that has opened up on the cursed corner of Colombo and Brougham St. It's called "Dr Bob's Family Restaurant", and has a strange caricatured picture of an old guy forcing a burger at you as the mascot. I doubt very much that this place is owned by a doctor, and if the curse of that corner holds true it'll shut down in a couple of months. Not that i'm cursing it or anything. Any place that has "Bob" or "Pants" in it's title is okay by me. |
