I think I’ll start out real simple. My full first name is, Joanna, but most people call me, Jo, and I really do prefer that, even though, some of the closest people to me, like Nick, can use my full first name, without it bothering me. I’m twenty-three years old, and I live in, Austin, Texas, but I was born in Corpus Christi, a nice town on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Growing up there was all right, I suppose. Some of you might think living near the beach would be a really good thing, huh? I guess it is, and it did have its up sides, but I couldn’t really enjoy it, due to my family. My mother’s name was, Cassandra, and my father, Joseph. I won’t go into a lot of detail, mainly because, it could get a bit depressing, and I’m in quite a good mood. I’ll just say, that my family was a very troubled one. My father constantly abused my mother and I, and when my mother had a second child, my younger brother, Stephen, my father got upset and killed both of them. I was only five at the time .. and I really didn’t understand it .. actually, I didn’t understand it at all. Only when I grew older, and old enough to grasp the concept of what he had done, did it truly hurt me. Oh, I was sad enough when it happened, but I was only five, and didn’t fully get the word, ‘kill’ or ‘murder’.
Anyway, my father died when I was thirteen, and then I went out on my own. I was very tall for my age, and I still am. I suppose I’ll go into the looks department, later, but then, I looked older than thirteen. I got a job, put myself through school, which was quite a hassle, and taught myself how to play the piano, guitar, and drums. I got through collage, and graduated not too long ago. Okay, now the looks part, right? Right. Well, I’m 6’0’’ and a few centimeters, which is considered quite tall for a woman. I weigh the appropriate amount for someone my height, but I’m not exactly sure what it is, since I haven’t been weighed in a bit. I have blue-golden eyes, and dark brown hair, almost black, but which I have dyed metallic blue, and cut short. My ears are pierced three times, I have my tongue, navel, and both eyebrows pierced, and I have quite a few tattoos. I have a snake on my left forearm, a dragon on my right, a dragon on my back, and two tigers on my shoulders, which I’m thinking of having done over, and maybe turn them into dragons as well, or maybe some sort of mythical creature!
So, now to my current life. I’m a musician, trying to make a living in Austin, the Live Music Capital of the World, as we’re sometimes called. I’m a lesbian, if I forgot to mention that, and I have a girlfriend that lives in Liverpool, England, which I’m hoping to meet in the future. And, being a musician, I love music! All kinds of music, even a bit of rap and country, here and there. My favorite musician/singer/songwriter would have to be Melissa Etheridge. She’s just amazing. Her voice, her songs, the lyrics, wonderful work. Myself, I focus on my guitar, but I still do play the drums, and a tiny bit of the piano. Other than that, I like movies, I have a lot of favorites, and just to mention a few : Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the Matrix, Practical Magic .. get the idea? Thought so. I also like video games, my favorite kind is probably RPG’s, or, role-playing games. Final Fantasy is one of the best, in my personal opinion, as well as Lunar. I like to read, also. Fan fiction, short stories, novels, you name it. I write a bit myself, and am currently working on a story, that might even get posted on Nick’s site as well!
Wow, this is turning out to be longer than I had intended. I might’ve added a few things that weren’t needed, or forgot a few things I should’ve mentioned, but all in all, I just hope I haven’t bored you.
