Precious Mother
By: Barbara Ritter

Mother left a while ago
Leaving me here so sad and low
Wondering at times if I can go on
Now that my precious mother is gone

She came to visit me last night
Her eyes so clear and hair so white
She sat down on my bed by me
And placed her hand upon my knee
I'm here my child she softly said
I sat up straight and turned my head
Please do not be alarmed my dear
I'm doing fine that's why I'm here
The roads are gold and all is glory
Please my child do not worry
I saw your dad the night I came
He reached for me and called my name
The love we shared is here forever
No sadness, tears or problems....never
Along beside him stood Dad and Mother
Hand in hand with my little brothers
I have a mansion on a hill
I'll save your place, please know I will
So dry your tears, I want no sadness
Be happy for me, full of gladness
I'm not alone, nor sick, nor sorrow
My joy will grow greater with each tomorrow
You now know about me dearest one
So, live your life and carry on
You have me always in your heart
I'm in your memories; we'll never part
I know you love me this is true
But your earthly family is in need of you
So let me go now to my new life
Knowing your happy being sister, mother and wife
Remember I haven't left you my dear
Just came ahead to prepare your place up here
I must go back home now, just wanted to say
I'll be waiting for you to come one day
Until your name is called from above
Go on with your life and continue to love
Live your life fully and don't despair
Be happy knowing I've home at last, I’m there.
