Why don't we just smile when we're happy and we know it? |

Hey hey, I don't know who suggested this one, but thank you! Anyways, it is a good topic, not enough people smile anymore. I know I notice it, do you? First issue to point out: People at work. It seems that people don't enjoy their jobs much, they don't like what they're doing, and therefore, they really don't smile that often. But smiling yourself makes others smile, don't they see that!?! And when people are smiling, they like to buy things! So, for your information, wherever you are, smile at people, they like it! I do have to note something, I'm talking about one of those happy, friendly smiles. Not one of those spooky leering smiles that makes people twitch and wonder why you're smiling in that fashion. Okay, another thing. Just in public, that's another place that needs to smile more. Try an experiment, go to the busiest area of people walking and while walking through make sure you smile. Don't just smile and walk though, look in their eyes and do it. If you look back you'll see another bounce in that persons step. You can make someone have a better day, or even just a better moment by smiling. Okay, so I've said where to smile and such, but not exactly down to the point why you should smile. Let me get to that now. 1. It's reassuring-Sure it is! You may not believe me, but it truly is. To most people it is at least. You can look at it this way. When a little kid wants to do something that they find difficult, you'll see them look at their parents, or some other authority figure for a approval and hopefully a smile. The smile makes them feel like they have that person's backing on it. It makes them try harder and more commonly achieve their goal. Watch sometime, you'll see what I mean. But even after childhood, it still happens. An easy case to think of. The Olympics. In the Olympics you'll often see many athletes look to either their parents, or coach, or some loved one. They're normally awaiting the nod and smile that says, "Yes, you can do it." I don't know, maybe it makes the person have more concentration, maybe they just want to please the person to match the smile that they received. I'm not sure why it makes me do any better, it just does. 2. It releases stress- Okay, so I can't say if this has been proven true, but I'm sure it is true. If you ever see someone really stressed on something, or maybe they're sick or something? Well, if you do something that makes them smile, you'll almost instantly see shoulders that are less tense and eyes not as squinted. 3. Builds muscles- There are muscles involved in smiling. So if you're aiming to make your facial muscles stronger, there's no better place to start than smiling. 4. Express yourself- Smiling let's others know how you're feeling. That is if you're smiling sincerely and not just doing it because you're being forced to. But otherwise, people like to see you smile, they like to see that you're happy. They especially like it if they're the source of your smile, so make sure you smile when someone makes you happy. It lets them know that they pleased you. This is easily not a complete list, there are many others. You'll just have to write your own ramble to let me know the other reasons if you wish. Now you can see, it is best to smile, so make sure that you go out tomorrow with a smile on you face and a hope to make others smile along with you. |
