I believe very strongly that when there is a need for something, the community comes together to create a response to it. All things move down from the Source. The firey sorts will get restless, feeling that something needs to be done, and start poking here and there trying to stir something up. The watery sorts will start envisioning what there could be to meet this need, projecting images and ideas out the wazoo. Those airy sorts receptive to ideas and communication will articulate the idea -- giving it form, a name, a shape, a method of working. But is is the earth powers who in the end determine how it works out. The grandest architect's vision is only as good as the foundation it sits on, and that Foundation is the people who show up to participate in its building and use the space. We all throw our seeds...ideas, dreams, lives, etc...on to the Mother and what is in line with Her plans grow and flowers.
It was wonderful to feel that people came when they needed to come, and often, seemed to intuitively know when to come to play together, or give someone the space to release something they couldn't have done in a group situation. That to me is what being a Priestess is...holding the door to the Temple open when the Goddess says people need to come in, and knowing when to close it and tend its flames when the rite is finished.
