Serenity
by D. Perry
copyrite 2001

The night air so calm and serene
the only light permeating the darkness
from the sparkling stars
My toes buried in the soft moist sand,
the waves crashing
sounds like a soothing lullaby to me.
I am at peace next to the sea
She brings me to this tranquil state
where nothing can hurt me.
She listens to me weep
and understands my pain.
She soothes my soul
with every glisten of the moon
on her horizon.
With the dawn a new day begins
and a new adventure I can share with her.
