My beautiful and oh, so fragile looking
Steel Magnolia
I feel so blessed to have been a part
Of this journey that is your life
To have watched you grow so straight and strong
And strive for your place in the sun
I smile in remembrance of the days
When your flower was but a tiny bud -
For even then you stood apart and showed an inner strength
Which is such a rarity indeed
And now to have watched you as you bloom
And come into your own
Is a gift I hold so dear and close to my heart
Always stay true to yourself
And shine amidst the weeds and common garden plants
And keep this thought in mind
Even when there is sometimes winter in your soul
That a bloom that is as exotic as you are
Deserves no less than the touch of a Master Gardener
Even if the search can sometimes be a long and lonely one
For you will know him by his touch
For no bumbling fool would have the wit or the tender touch
To pluck one such as you
For this is truly what your are -
So soft and fragile to the eye
But the finest tempered steel inside...
A Steel Magnolia
