X-Terra Triathlon Richmond, VA 2002 ~ Tough swimming over rocks and re-bar in the James River.   X-Terra ~ Biking over a narrow bridge was one of the easy sections, it's all mental.   X-Terra ~ MTB ride had some really sick downhills with loose rock and hard turns, it was great!  X-Terra ~ Running next to Astride, still able to smile after the crippling cramps in both our first full triathlons.
I'm a huge advocate of keeping fit, moreover having the mentality to stay fit for life.  Working out regularly has given me so much energy as well as taken me to new places to meet interesting people.  Races are just one way to get a great sense of accomplishment. You really can do anything, it's all about conditioning.  Doctors once told me that I wouldn't be able to run again without surgery, it was about the 3rd time I had broken my ankle from soccer.  I focused on natural rehabilitation instead and eventually ran the Marine Corp. Marathon.
