The Baha'i World Faith was founded in Iran by Mizra Ali Muhammad and Mizra Husayn Ali. Ali claimed to be a manifestation of God (Baha'ullah). Members of the Baha'i World Faith use the Bible, the writings of Baha'ullah and Abdu'lBaha, the Kitab-iAqdas, and the Kirab i-Iqan as their scriptures. They believe that God is an unknowable being who has revealed himself in nine manifestations throughout history. These manifestations include Moses, Muhammad, Jesus, the Buddha, etc. Members of the Baha'i World Faith belief that there is a divine energy from Goid that empowers every manifestaton of life. They stress faith in the maifestations of God and his principles and teachings. They believe that personal immortality is based on good works which bring rewards for on'es faithfulness. Although Baha'i sprung up in the midst of Islamic religion, it does not hold to the traditional Western teaching on Heaven and Hell. Rather, it asserts that Heaven and Hell are simply just conditions rather than actual places. The Baha'World Faith is very significant because it is the first known religion in the history of the world to stress the combination of all religions into one. Members of the Baha'i World Faith teach that all religions have same source, principles, and aims. therefore, they stress their that in striving for oneness and world unity through interfaith spiritual assemblies. Although the religion was started inb Iran by two former members of the muslim faith, the Baha'i World Faith is now rejected by most Muslims and therefore now has found a headquarters on Mount Carnel in Haifa, Israel. The site of the Baha'i headquarters is according to Biblical tradition the same spot where the Baalites had their headquarters in Israel. |
