Montanism

Montanism is an early hyperapocalyptic cult within Christianity that is considered by many to be one of the predecessors to Pentecostalism, which is a sect and not of cult Christianity, of which I have a link to on my page. Montanism was a movement started by Montanus in third century CE. Montanus claimed special revelation from God that the end of the world was about to occur and started prophesying. he attributed his revelations as being equivalent with the canon of scripture. When his prophecies about the end of the world did not materialize and hid detah occurred, the cult he created eventually fell into several splinter groups where it later dissolved as a movement.
