Wicca is a large conglamorate of specific traditions of ancient nature religions. Wicca is very similar to and does use the practices of witchcraft in its religion. Wicca is a relgion that was basically started by a group called the "Gothic Withces.. Much of the work of Wicca revolves around ancient Magic, but they incorporate a lot of Egyptian and Celtic crafts,as their research, certain laws of magic were discovered and formed. Wiccans are involved in practices such as cating spells. These spells can be used to benefit a =person for the better or to harm a person for the worse. Wiccans believe that everybody has the ability to perform magic, but that itr is a matter of practice, intent, and dedication. They teach that first each individual must learn to get in touch with his own energy, then they must learn how to use and redirect this energy for the purposes of magic. There are several specific fields of Wiccan practice. Each field has its main focus. Witchcraft and Shamanism are the most common. Shamanism is focused on the healing arts of using pure magical medicine and alchemy. Wicca is focused on living and lifestyle. Almost all Wicca is similar, but not the same. There are different groups which include Celtic, Egyptian, and Norse. Many groups are eclectic and don't follow any particular set of magical incantation. They use the best parts of each tradition and mix all of them together. Wiccans sometimes gather to perform rituals done by a set or group of spiritual-minded people involved in the practice of Wicca. Some Wiccans live together as a coven (community of Wiccans and witches). Wicca is more of a tradition and is not exactly the same as witchcraft. Wiccans teach that each individual has a magical name given by their peers, or given to the spirit realm of which one lives in. Many people have two magical names, one for public and another for spiritual privacy. The private name is used during trance, divinbation or some other existential means. Wiccans also implore practices in astrology and many other pagan systems in order to practice their faith. |
