Word-Faith Movement

The Word-Faith Movement is a growing movement that has gained prominence within Christianity throughout the last half of the twentieth century.  Its major leaders include such prominent leaders as Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, KC Price, Benny Hinn, David Cho, Robert Tilton, John Avanzini, John Osteen, T.L. Osborne, Marilyn Hickey, Jerry Savelle, Morris Cerullo, Casey Treat, Dwight Thompson, Oral and Richard Riberts, and Creflo Dollar.  The movement has been popularized through Paul and Jan Crouch's Trinity Broadcasting Network.  The movement teaches that God is a being who stands approximately six feet tall, weighs some two hundreed pounds, and looks exactly like a man.  They also teach that faith is a literal substance "that God used to create the universe, and he transported that faith with his words, and that all things are subject to the force of faith used by God, even God himself is subject to the force of faith when humans use it.  They also believe that Adam was an exact duplicate of God.  They believe that at first Adam was a female and a male but then God seperated the female part from the male part.  They teach that the fall caused Adam and Eve's godlike natures to be replaced with the nature of Satan.  Members of the movemtn also believe that it when it was time for Christ to come into the world that God implored the force of faith to speak Christ into existence.    They teach that Jesus was wealthy while on earth.  Members of the movement believe that in order to buy our redemption, Jesus went to Hell where he paid a ransom to Satan to purchase our salvation.  They teach that then his Satanic nature was replaced by his divione nature.  They teach that all humans have a divine nature that comes in when they remove the Satnic nature.  Once the divine nature comes, in a person is a Christian and members of the movement refer to Christians as little gods.  Members of the movement teach that every form of suffring is of the Devil and that if a person is not living in a big house or if they are stricken wiht a sickness, then it is something that they are to blame themselves for because they spoke it into existence with their own words.  Due to this teaching, they stress the power of audible confession and condemn those who do not practice it.  The movement is the most popular among all Christians.  Most Christians in the movement are Orthodox Christians whoi follow the teachers and their teachings and are unaware of the destruction that they cause to traditional Christian doctrine.
