ADDING PICTURES TO ANNOUNCEMENTS/MAIN PAGES
FINDING PICTURES FOR YOUR ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. GO TO www.freewebspace.com and create a free account or go to www.homestead.com to purchase one.
2. Start looking for some clipart on websites here are some places to start:
www.barrysclipart.com
www.flamingtext.com
http://www.aaaclipart.com/
3. When you find a background or a clipart picture that you like right click on the picture or background.
4.A menu will come up left click on the SAVE PICTURE option it should say the file name and under it will say either GIF, JPG, or JPEG. GIF is want you want for most of the pictures. Sometimes you do not get the option to change it to GIF and JPG is the only format to save it as.
When its in JPG you can go into your picture software ( ie. Software that came with a scanner,digital cam ect. microsoft picture is one program but there are many others). Open the photo/clipart/background that is in JPG. Then click on SAVE AS. You will see the options of formats to save it in. One option should say GIF click that GIF and then click save. Your JPG image will now be in GIF format.
5. Go to your account in angelfire or homestead and you will see an option where it says UPLOAD or BROWSE.
6. Click Browse, find the picture you want to upload and click OPEN then click UPLOAD
7. Now you will see the picture file in youre file box in angelfire click on the file name and above it says VIEW FILE click there ( view file)
8. Your picture will now open and you will see a web address at the top that starts with www angelfire and ends in GIF.
9. Highlight that web addy and click EDIT then Click COPY
10. Log in to your ADMIN center and click on the ANNOUNCEMENT option
11. To put a picture into your announcement box this is the HTML code you will need:
<Img src="http://YOURNAME.www.freewebspace.com/filename.GIF>
