Peter Crouch scored on his Home Debut to help Aston Villa to a draw. Alan Shearer put the Magpies in front after a Laurent Robert shot hit the post. Crouch headed the equaliser but there were few chances in the second half.

Arsenal reach Premiership summit
Chelsea held at  Portman Road
Goals from Henry and Ljungberg helped Arsenal to take pole position. Euell and Kinsella went close but were unable to score.
Marcus Bent failed to convert a penalty in a goaless draw.  Ipswich had plenty of poessesion but could not score. Zenden and Hasselbaink went close for Chelsea.
Spurs damage Leeds' Champion's league hopes
Middlesbrough gain  vital win
Robbie Mustoe gave Middlesbrough an important win against Derby. The goal was gifted toi him by a poor clearance by Andy Oakes. Derby couldn't penetrate a solid Middlesbrough defense.
Steffen Iversen put Tottenham ahead before minutes and then Sheringham put Spurs 2-0 up with 28 minutes gone. Viduka gave Leeds a lifeline but Robbie Fowler was made to regret his missed chances.
Two sent off as Toffees bounce back

Both teams had players sent off, Ferguson was sent off for a clash with Bobic whil Konstantinidis was sent off for two rapid yellow cards. Pistone, Radzinski and Nick Chadwick scored for Everton but N'Gotty gave Bolton a chance with a goal to make it 2-1 before Chadwick's goal.
In two minutes Blackburn scored two goals to win the game. Damien Duff cut inside from the left to make it 1-0, Duff then suppied a sublime cross which was met by Jorge Yordi.
