Chinchilla Mini Rex
Chinchilla just happens to be my favorite variety, but unfortunatle is almost non existent in some parts of the country. They are another color that tends to come in many different shades, and many different opinions of what is correct. Chinchilla should have a base color of slate, then an intermediate band as close in size as the undercolor as possible. This then should be tipped with a brilliant deep black. No other color other than black will be accepted for show. The overall color should resemble real chinchilla, and be a rich deep looking color. Chinchilla's are another of the agouti pattern, and can come in many shades of "gray". Depending on the band width, this color can appear as light as a frosty pearl (not Frosted Pearl)color, to an almost black looking animal. I hope to be able to show all of these variations on this site.
