Since there 's not much to watch on TV lately, I've been re-watching all the Olga-vision material I have, in chronological order. Call it my Olga Retrospective Film Festival. It's pretty cool to compare all her roles and see how she's grown in her career. I don't have Preserve so I had to skip that one (she only had two lines in it anyway) but I watched her scenes in The Vice (so young and adorable she was in that) and Gormenghast.
Then I watched Jason and the Argonauts, mostly just watching for Olga's scenes. That must have been a demanding shoot. All that running and rowing and shooting arrows. I love the Atalanta character. She's so noble and graceful. And so classically beautiful too. I think Atalanta emcompasses some of the qualities Olga would draw on later for Lena's character.
I have seen The Lost Empire but I don't have it on DVD myself. Olga's part was quite small in that one (again, only a few lines) but I do remember how lovely she looked. And her name in it was Linda, which is a fabulous name that suits Olga perfectly because it means "beautiful."
I'm now watching Take Me, one of my favourites in the Olga catalogue. More on that later.
