We are so fortunate to have two full sisters by Cymraeg Rainbeau. Both mares were bred by Mrs. M. Kenneth Taylor of Hampton, Virginia. Cymraeg Rainbeau is considered one of the leading pony hunter sires in the U.S.

Emerson Burr wrote in his 1986 book, The Pony Book:

"The moment Mrs. Taylor brought Rainbeau from his stall remains indelibly etched in the mind. He floated forward, feet barely gracing the ground, tail cocked and flowing, ears perked and eyes bright, nostrils flared. He was a perfect specimen of a pony --- the idealized Welsh---Mrs. Taylor put him through his tricks in the field, running beside him holding him in a lead shank, allowing him the luxury of being supremely himself--delighting in his way of moving and his personality."

Cymraeg Curtain Call

Curtain is a 1987 Bay Section A Welsh mare. We purchased her in 1992 for my daughter, Lauren, as a short stirrup pony hunter mount. For three years Curtain and Lauren enjoyed showing at the local level, pony clubbing and trail riding. Curtain was a wonderful children's pony. When Lauren outgrew her, we decided to try our hand at breeding. This was the beginning of Wicklyn Welsh. In 1995 we bred her to *Carolinas Red Fox a nearby stallion. Little did we know, it was the start of an addiction!

The result of this breeding was Wicklyn's Court Jester, who is now successfully showing in the small pony hunter division under the name "No Bunny But Me." Curtain is a proven performance pony and broodmare. She had a stunning bay colt by GlanNant Scarab in 2002 and is currently bred back to Scarab for a 2003 foal.

Cymraeg Applause

Cymraeg Applause, or "Dolly" as we call her, is a wonderful Section B Welsh mare who joined our broodmare band in 2003. We are thankful to Mary Chisholm of Alliance Farm for the opportunity to purchase this beautiful mare. After years of pestering Mary, who finally relented, Dolly and her 2002 filly by Alra Blue Radiance has happily settled in and reunited with her full sister Curtain.

Wicklyn's Emerald Isle, who we call Erin, was sold as a yearling and started under saddle. She showed tremendous athleticism and a had natural jumping ability. Unfortunately, due to an injury, Erin's promising show career was cut short.   Fortunately for us, she is now part of our broodmare band.  Erin had a beautiful grey filly in 2005 by Clovercrofts Brenin.

Leased for the 2003 - 2005 breeding seasons.   We are so pleased to have a daughter of the legendary Farnley Lustre.  Lovelight  is a full sister to Shenandoah Arclight who sired several pony hunters on the A circuit before being gelded.   Lovey had an adorable filly on April 5, 2005 and is back in foal to GlanNant Scarab for 2006.

Illusion

14.2 hand Thoroughbred mare

"Sassy" was a large pony hunter in her younger days and has a permanent card at 14.2 hands.  She was a twin.  She produces lovely hunter ponies with elegant movement and pretty heads.  She is the dam of "Wicklyn's Native Son" by Almosta Native, a 13 hand Section B Welsh stallion.
