Historic Wiesbaden Hot Springs Spa and Lodgings

The Wiesbaden Lodge is a special place that is well-known for its relaxed elegance and rare style.

In its idyllic setting the Wiesbaden offers a welcome respite from the cares of the world.  At times, deer, elk and mountain sheep pass by unnoticed and unaffected.

We welcome you to enjoy the comfortable warmth of the Wiesbaden where you will find individually decorated rooms, some antiques and old linens with an atmosphere considered incomparable by those who frequent it.

History:
The hot springs of the Wiesbaden have been flowing from the San Juan Mountains for thousands of years. The Ute Indians who settled in Ouray, and other tribes who traveled for days to reach the Wiesbaden waters, considered the springs sacred and deemed them, "MIRACLE WATERS," that possessed curative powers. The Wiesbaden springs are still used today for ceremonial puposes.
The original structure of the Wiesbaden was built in 1879 and known as Mother Buchanan's Bath House. Several decades of colorful history followed. In the 1920's, Dr. C.V. Bates, M.D. established Bates Hospital at the site of the waters and the medicinal effects of the Wiesbaden hot springs became widely acknowledged.
Because of the therapeutic qualities of the pure continually flowing hot springs Vaporcave and other facilities, the Wiesbaden is recognized as
unequaled for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Over the past 50 years, the Wiesbaden has evolved into a small, personable spa frequented by people from around the world.

Lodging:
There are seven rooms in the original Lodge:
Room 12 and Room 13 are both furnished with double beds. Room 11 is furnished with a queen bed; it has sunny windows that overlook the South Lawn. Room 14 and Room 15 also have queen beds. Room 16 also has a queen bed; it is located in the lodge, but it has an entrance onto the courtyard.
Room 17, the
