This page and description will be developed as and when I know more about the radios range.
Currently the Link Station will cover most of Ryde - With the exception of the High Street area which is both built-up and on a hillside, and the promenade directly in front of the High Street area.
I have had contacts with Portsdown Hill ('The Hill') area, which is a common Radio DX spot.
I am looking forward to gaining contacts with the following areas in the future, which should be possible.
-
Someone using the Link Station at the top of the Spinnaker tower.
- Someone with a PMR set on a ship or boat on the Solent
- Someone with a PMR set on the Solent Ferries (Wightlink, and / or Fastcat)
-
A distant contact on the South Coast - All the way to Eastbourne?
-
More contacts from 'The Hill', knowing exactly where the contact is from, as Portsdown Hill is a large area.
-
Contacts to Portsmouth, Gosport and Fareham.
