Gay Marriage

Do any straight people out there ever remember making a conscience choice to be straight? I don't ever remember making this choice. Do any white people ever remember making a choice to be white or do any black people ever remember making a choice to be black? Blacks and whites can get married, so why not men and men or women and women? Both are beyond our control, so why discriminate against one and not the other? You can't. You have to either discriminate against both or none. You can't use the way someone looks to discriminate in the eyes of the law, so why should you be allowed to use their sexual preference? People are just afraid of change and once people are used to gays getting married, there won't be any problems. ex: in the 1940s before the civil rights movement most whites felt that blacks were inferior to whites, not because they had encounters or instances where black people had shown their inferiority, but because they were raised to believe that blacks were and inferior race. Today most people in my generation agree that all people are equal. Why? Because we were all raised that way. We went to multiracial schools live in multiracial neighborhoods and work in multiracial workplaces. My basic point is this: people are afraid of gay marriage because they are afraid of change. The same thing was felt by the anti-civil rights protesters in the 1960s.

And for all you in the Christian right who like to beat their bibles, might I remind you that evolution was not accepted by the church for the longest period of time. If God didn't want us to think, then why did he give us brains? Now go back and read my thoughts on gay marriage with this mindset.
