Crow & Raven Page
i am still doing research on this subject, but here's what i've found so far on Crows & Ravens, birds of the Corvidae family.
Crows and Ravens have often had a reputation for being evil, as their diet consists sometimes of dead animals and, even in old times, of people (they were frequently seen on battlefields)
They also have been called creatures of Satan or the devil (if you believe in that...) Remember the scene in Damian, Omen II?
However, Crows and Ravens have been revered in many different cultures.
Crows and Ravens had many legends and functions in many Native American Cultures, often portrayed as a trickster
The Morrigan was a Celtic Shapechanging war goddess that would often appear as a Raven or a Hooded Crow. As a protector she empowers and individual to confront challenges with great personl strength, even against seemingly overwhelming odds. There are many pages on the web with information on The Morrigan, if you care to look.
In Norse mythology, the God Odin had two ravens, Hugin (thought) and Munin (memory) that would fly through the world & report to Odin of the acts of mankind.

Of course you must have guessed i would have to put something about "The Crow" in here... but really, the mythology of the Crow in the Comic and movie is interesting to look into... the Crow serves as a totem or spirit guide for Eric Draven, the "avenging spirit" as it were... the crow is his link between the realms. What really makes it interesting is the setting is Devils Night, Halloween which coincides with the festival of Samhain, the Pagan new year & the night when the veil between the living world & the Summerlands is thinnest. Although i liked Brandon Lee in this movie, & his accidental death during the filming was a tragedy... i think the bird was the star of the show!!!!!!
