Passin' through the season,
Where I cheated you...
She stared in utter horror at the severe burn on her hand as she fell to her knees in agony. Oh god did she hate being controlled like this. She had failed her most important mission yet: to kill the enemy, aka Heero Yuy. Unfortunately for her, he had lived. The pain devise in her hand and upper arm had not been pushed this far before, and it hurt so much...
"Gira, return to home base or suffer more."
"Y... yes sir..."
She slowly got to her feet and began walking in the direction of the assassin's headquarters...
"You can shut-up now, Maxwell..."
"Oh I couldn't do that! You'd get bored!"
"No we wouldn't!" All the occupants in the car except Duo yelled.
Heero had healed really quickly. He was only in the hospital for a week before the doctors released him. They were completed baffled. Not the four other pilots, though. This was the guy who blew himself up on a daily basis and survived, only to go and blow himself up all over again for pete's sake! ( Yea, I do make Heero seem like a person with weird powers in this story but he doesn't! )
They pulled into the driveway and helped a very reluctant Heero into the house. He immediately walked upstairs and slammed the door behind him.
I will always stand across the river
The boat reminds me I was there
So give me strength to face this test of mine...
She sat alone in her room, secluded from the rest of the building. She had been given one last chance to complete her mission. She was told to go to Heero Yuy's home while he was recovering and kill him while he was asleep. She felt a little uneasy about this, but the pain... the searing, blinding, pain which held her freedom captive was what kept her from retaliating.
She grabbed her cloak and knives and set out into the dark of night...
Duo yawned sleepily. It was one in the morning and he insisted on staying up and watching a Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Universe, and Tenchi in Tokyo marathon. (^_~ ) He was so preoccupied that he didn't hear the quiet snap of the kitchen window as it snapped shut or the figure that silently slunk upstairs towards Heero's room.
She silently entered her enemy's room. The
sleeping form of Heero Yuy lay peacefully in his bed as she approached
and drew her long knife. He shifted and she could now see his
features perfectly because of the open window and misty moonlight.
A messy brown head of hair was what she could tell most. It decorated
his stern face in an unruly mass. She suddenly didn't have the will
to kill him. Her enemy. His peaceful face so innocent in his
sleep, so beautiful... She finally lifted the blade and hesitated.
< Why do I have to kill him? He's so young... come to think of
it... so am I...> She shook her head and put a disgusted look on
her face. If only I could turn back time!
If only I could turn back time!
He was sleeping lightly that night.
This new enemy would come after him again and he wanted to be woken by
the slightest thing. And he was awoken, too. By a brief touch
of soft hair on his face. When he opened his eyes, he saw the girl
from the concert standing over him, knife in hand and, luckily, he caught
the knife just as she brought it down to meet his face, leaving the blade
only inches away from his face. Then, something wet hit his cheek.
He thought it was just raining and he had left his window open, that is
until the girl let go of the knife and fell to floor crying.
Claim your right to science,
Though pranks of conscience
I've seen it coming like a thief in the night
Heero put the knife in the cabinet and replaced
it with his gun. He got out of bed and walked over to the crying
girl, keeping the gun on her the whole time. She stopped crying and
stood, unarmed and unafraid.
"Do it." She said plainly.
"Huh?"
"Pull the trigger. It will ease both my suffering
and yours."
Heero stood expressionless and just as motionless.
Why did the girl want him to kill her? Just as that thought ended,
the sound of footsteps was heard and there, standing in the doorway, pistol
drawn, was Duo.
"A heard the commotion and thought I'd come and check
it out. The other three are on their way."
Heero nodded. He lowered his gun and Gira found
her opportunity. She smirked and chucked a small dagger at Heero
and turned her attention to Duo, not knowing her dagger had not met it's
mark until she felt a searing pain in her side. She slowly reached
her hand around, eyes closed in pain, and clasped her hand around the very
same dagger she had thrown at Heero. She pulled it out, wincing,
before the control devise kicked in full blast and she passed out.
So give me the strength to face this test of mine...
If only I could turn back time!
If only I could turn back time!
That blasted girl! Just as he lowered
his gun she chucked a hidden dagger at him. Luckily, he had ducked
to the side and caught the dagger, only leaving a slight cut across his
bare stomach. Her back was turned so he did the only logical thing
for Heero Yuy to do. He threw it back at her. He watched as
she pulled out the dagger only to have her to fall the ground and curl
into a protective ball in agony, passing out soon after. Just after
the girl had passed out, the smell of burnt flesh and blood was potent
in the room as Heero bent down to examine her, seeing the burns on her
arm and hand.
"Assassin control technology..." He said to nobody
in particular.
"What?!" Screeched Duo as Heero picked up the girl
and carried her out of the room where the other three pilots were waiting.
Heero turned to the other four and said plainly "I'm
taking her to the medical room.", before marching in that direction.
If only I could turn back time!
If only I could turn back time!
If only I could turn back time!
If only I could turn back time!
If only I could....
The rest of that night was spent reviewing
strategies from tomorrow's assault since everyone felt at least a little
bit uneasy. Heero only made things worse by tapping the bloody dagger
his attacker had used on the table. Finally Duo couldn't take any
more.
"Would you cut that out!?"
No response. Heero kept tapping away.
A vein started to throb in the braided pilot's head as he watched Heero
ignoring him.
"HELLO! EARTH TO HEERO!"
Duo was silence by the bloody dagger's flat pressed
against his lips to quiet him. Duo looked up at Heero but the Japanese
pilot's attention was at the top of the stairs. Duo followed
Heero's gaze and saw the girl from earlier, her back resting against the
railing but her face watching the group intently. Duo opened his
mouth to speak but his top lip was met with the blade and a tiny bit of
blood began to trickle from the point of impact, which, Duo knew, was his
own fault for bringing his lip down on top of it. Heero pulled away
the blade and whipped the blood off on his black boxers before flinging
it through the air and having the girl catch it. Of all things to
do at this point, she smirked.
"Heh, thanks."
She trotted down the stairs and stoped infront of
Heero. Finally, after a couple minutes of silence, the girl raised
the palm of her hand to show the burns to him. Heero nodded and he
got up, leading the girl back up to the medical room. Duo touched
his still bleeding lip tenderly.
"Oww! wha'd he do that for?"
Qautre giggled before taking a sip of his tea and
the other two just smirked.
"What?!"
still tbc
How'd you like this one? Better than the
other one? Please say yes.... *crickets chirping in the backround.*
