St. Cuthbert (left) and St. Trowbane (top center) take on the Oinodaemon himself, Anthraxus. ST. TROWBANE St. Trowbane known as “The Hammer of the Dark
Dwellers” and “The Scourge of the Unoerth” appears as a tall, wiry
man with a bald pate and an enormously long, pointed white beard. He
wears chainmail and a black and white checkerboard cape and carries a
large mallet. On his belt he wears the legendary “Lantern of
Trowbane”. This artifact appears as a miniature lantern which contains a piece of the sun. From it Trowbane can summon
“the Sun Beast” a flaming wolverine composed of the fire and energy
of the sun. His cape is a portal to a pocket dimension known as the
Boards of Blood of which St. Trowbane imprisons all those brought low by
his mallet. This checkerboard world is where he tests the mettle of
those faithful. St. Trowbane is always vigilant against Nerull and
all the Gloom Lord represents. Trowbane
sometimes travels the underworld aiding those who dare penetrate the
darkness below. St. Trowbane is on amicable terms with St. Cuthbert. The clergy of St. Trowbane exist in two forms: the
Explorers and the Exterminators. The Ranks of Explorers wear a white
cloak with black interior lining and carry a holy symbol of a lantern
emblazoned on a stylized sun. They are dedicated to mapping the
underworld realm of Unoerth and all of its dangers and wonders. The
Ranks of Exterminators wear a black cloak with a white interior lining
and bear a holy symbol of a mallet on a stylized sun. They are less
organized group than the Explorers and fight to rid the world of
emerging evil from below. His followers are numerous amongst those that dare venture into the depths of the oerth. So it is not uncommon to find shrines to Trowbane in such places as mine entrances. The range of his worship mirrors that of his contemporary St. Cuthbert which is focused around the Central Flanaess. There is a growing following amongst adventurers who regard him as a patron. ST. the Board of Blood. Foes fallen by St. Trowbane are willed into this
plane and imprisoned. The
plane is a seeming endless dimension filled with foes and traps to test
faithful clerics of St. Trowbane. His black gauntlets have the tunneling ability of
an umber hulk (1” movement per turn /solid stone and 6” movement per
turn through loam). Striking an opponent with the gauntlets deals 3-12

fabled lantern of St. Trowbane is a small device on his belt which when
opened the beam is similar to a Continual
Light spell. It can produce a Sunray
effect upon command. Or if so he chooses it can summon the aid of the
Sun Beast that lies within. The Sun Beast which is composed of the
