Europe
Europe is the continent with the most accents
in the world. This very green continent
contains very interesting creatures of
both predator and prey. Ranging from
the small Jack Rabbit to the huge bison.

Bison
The bison is Europe's largest mammal with a weight of upto 1200 kilograms. Although being a herbivore, no animal would dare mess with a bison. Its huge horns and body would be enough to crush a wolf or a deer, but a bison is incredibly peaceful (yes, an 1200kg pacifist). A bison eats, small trees, heathers and shrubs.

A fully grown adult bison can reach a height of 6 feet tall, (that's taller than me!!!) whats even more amazing, they can grow to 9 feet in length!!! Their gestation period is between 254 to 272 days. The world bison herd of today that was bred from 12 ancestors is about 3,5 thousand animals. Some of them, about 1700 bisons, live in wild nature in places of their former population (Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia). The whole herd consists of the multitude of small isolated captive and wild herds. Such isolation among bisons can lead to a loss of genetic diversity and finally to their extinction.
