Main Problems Threating The Environment Today
Global Warming
Global Warming is the number one threat to all life on earth. As Pollution causes the climate to become warmer,the environment changes. Plant life on land slowly die off from the climate changes,which is the most important for oxygen. It is also the main food source for all life on earth. With out plant life,animals and humands will die off. This warming is also causing trouble for marine life too. The warming tempertures are causing the ice of the North Pole to melt,which will cause the water level to rise. This will wipe out all life on land of North American and other countries. In which pollution on the land(oil,garbage,etc.)will pollute and kill marine life as well.
How To Help:
1. Stop the cutting of forests.
2. Plant more trees and plants.
3. Do not pollute.
4. Wirte to your congressman and senator,and ask for their help to stop Global Warming fast.
Human Overpopulation
Human overpopulation is the second threat to the environment. As the human population continues to grow at a fast rate,the more land they take up. This mains taking away more forests and habitat,the main homes of wildlife. Soon there will be no more homes nor land left for wildlife as human continue to take up more land space. This will also cause extinction of wildlife on land. Later humans will die off too.
How To Help:
1. Have 0-2 kids per house whole,or adopt.
2. Use some form of birth control.
3. Shair your home with your kid's families.
4. Write to you state leaders for birth control support.
Pollution
Pollution is the third threat to the environment. Oil spills in water of streams,lake,rivers,and oceans is one of the main pollution problem hurting the environment. Second is pollution on land from vehicles and factories that are polluting the air. Third is the trash in the water and on land. The main garbage problem is garbage that can't compose like plastic,glass,and metal.
How To Help:
1. Recycle plastic,glass,metal,and even oil.
2. Throw away your trash in trash cans or recycle bins.
3. If you see trash on the ground,be kind to the environment and throw it in the trash.
4. Start a small group to help keep the parks and water clean.
Invaiding Species
Alien species is maybe the fourth main threat to North American ecosystem(and other countries). Alien plants and animals from other countries has invaded the,overpopulated,and destroying the North American ecoystem. Which is another big problem causing native palnts and animals going extinct.
How To Help:
Alien Plants
1. Cut down non-native plant life around your home. Then pull or dig up the roots.
2. Start a small groups to help get rid of non-native plants in your area(parks,street,etc.).
3. Burn the alien plant,and their seeds if you can. May need permit for this.
4. Plant only native plants native in your country,or state in your garden or area.
Alien Animals
1. The only way is to kill them. Plant do this non-cruel way(quick and painless).
2. Keep food in cans and other secure things.
3. Keep trash in well pretected and sealed trash cans. Keep lids tight.
4. Keep home and the properity clean.
5. For alien insects in garden,use safe herbalcide or native insect eaters(ladybugs,frogs,etc.).
