Bees are not just very important to the ecostem,but to humans too. Bees and other pollinator help pollinate plants that are important to the ecostem. They also help pollinate plants that are food to many animals,and to humans. They help pollinate crops like corn and other foods that humans need to live. With bees and other pollinators to help pollinate the plants we need to live,all living thing would be extinct. More and more bees and other pollenators are declining every day due to lost of habitat,food source,and human poisoning of insecticide from farmers and gardeners. Some think that the change in climate may be another problem of the declining of pollinators. Thats why bees and other pollinators need our help. How you can help: 1. Do not use insecticides 2. Plant a lot of nectaring plants,and pollen through out the season(Spring through Fall) 3. Give a warm sheltering place to nest(Usually facing South) 4. A safe place for the bee quween to hibernate 5. Support beekeepers,or become a beekeeper to help give bees a place with sheltor Bees Faverite Plants: Beebalms , Morning Glories , Trumpet Creepers , Honeysuckles , Poppies , Vetches , Roses , Fruit Bearing Plants, Herbs , Lilies , Milkweeds , Milkvetch , Milkvines , etc. Insect Control Instead of insecticide,use soap water. There are even pest control spray made from oranges to help kill unwanted insects in your garden. But if you are going to use insecticide,use Safer insecticide with soap.
