Dachshunds (also known as wiener dogs) are an enigma. What other type of dog could be so disobedient yet so affectionate at the same time? They are maddeningly territorial and agressive towards intruders but when they finally accept you it is a loyal friendship for life. These little guys are archetypical of their breed and have managed to make themselves a beloved part of our family even if their housebreaking is a little spotty at times.
