:::Chores::: !!Make Sure to Read Entire Page!! *** Each and every member both Free and slave are expected to contribute fully and completely to the daily life of this Home. This is a Forest Home, a dangerous and harsh environment, there is no time for slacking until the daily chores are done. Slackers will be sold at the Trade points for a softer life(maybe) as a silk slave for a Free Woman or a harsher life as a galley slave or field hand to a Gorean Master. *** [Be warned We do not tolerate laziness or disobedience] *** Chores bring your home alive and expresses the uniqueness of the home. It is even more important in ours, as Wildwoods has no NPC's to do tasks for us. Nothing gets done unless its performed by a Member. If no one washes the kettle and food bowls, then they are all dirty. If no one tans hides, then they do not get tanned for trade. It is also another way that you as the slave can express yourself and your beauty. *** When doing chores try to be realistic and only do one chore, not clean the whole place in 7 posts. Chore posts, like a serve post, should be 3 to 4 lines long and very descriptive. Each chore should include at least 5 to 7 posts, sometimes longer depending on the job (the more difficult the more posts). *** All slaves should copy their chores from the chat room (script chore only not the other activity of the room) and post them on the chore section of the Message Board for all to see. This is for a few reasons. 1. To see who is participating in the home and who is not. 2. So everyone can see what is done and what needs to be done. *** Below is a list of chores that always can/need to be done in our camp For those more adventurous, do a web search find a way to make soap, create a basket, or other unusual things that will be advantageous to us. The ideas are only limited by you and the forest environment. -Camp clean up clean dirty goblets, bowls, etc (water is drawn from the stream and heated in kettles on the central fire) -Brew fresh blackwine each day (beans are in pouches in each Mistress hut in her food supplies these can be ground and put in a rep cloth pouch, the pouch then dropped into a clean kettle of water and put to boil over the fire) -Fill the oil lamps with fresh oil (each Hut in camp has its own oil lamp, small quantities of oil are traded in use this sparingly) -Gathering berries, suls and nuts from the forest (this can be done by using the various in room pulldowns, remember to post concealment we do not want you tracked back to the lair by an Outsider) -Tend the fire pit which includes cleaning and refueling (the fire pit should be scraped of ash often, cooled ash can be placed in the metal pail, it will then be used to make soap) -Restock the supply of wood (hand axes are supplied for chopping wood, we need green wood for the smoke tent, and hard wood for the central fire both) -Remove fallen limbs and debris from the camp grounds -Making adornments from shells, teeth and claws (these can be both worn and traded at the points, slaves who make these items can be allowed to go and trade with the Panthers for them) -Soaking and smoking meats (this is a chore that can be done over 2 days, the first would be cutting all meat in strips, soaking it in whatever you like, most often paga and spices, or wine overnight. The next day, the meat is then put upon the frame inside the smoking tent, the fire stoked with green wood and left inside for 5 to 7 days. It is then taken down and put into sacks to be stored for winter in the emegency cache caves) -Clean and refill empty bota's (bota's are kept full and floating in the stream for cool drinks, hanging near the fire for warm ones. Both need to be kept in supply for the demanding Panthers in the camp. Kegs are kept in the storage hut or in the stream to be cooled depending on the beverage) -Checking and restocking Med kits (each med kit needs to have clean bandages, salve and herbs replaced) -Tanning furs (this is very important, if you check the hunt board, you will always find furs that need to be tanned. First they are washed with soap flakes in the stream, wrung out and staked down upon the grass, fur side down. Tanning Kits contain a scraping tool, used to slough off the remaining flesh upon each hides back left from skinning. Then, mix up a solution of oil, brains and inners ~yummy~ in the old kettle and heat until mixed. This is then rubbed and massaged into the back of each, once done they are hung for 2 to 3 days to dry fully. Tarsk and Tabuk hides should be boiled first, to loosen the hair. Both sides are scraped and covered with the tanning mix.) -Cleaning Panthers Huts -Wash and Dry the furs -Shake the rugs or furs upon the floor and clean them -Make sure the oil lanterns are full *** !! Remember it is you who will be carrying these goods in from the Trade Points. you are the lair pack animals as well.
