Route 60 Memorial Ride Journals Saturday, October 20, 2001 Lincoln Century Hodgenville to Lexington — Left the motel across from Lincoln's birthplace before first light for what was to be 100 miles of hills and the city. Stopped by Knob Creek Farm, Lincoln’s boyhood home, and passed by the distilleries where the very fine Knob Creek bourbon is made. Did not find a suitable motel 'til I rode through Lexington in the dark and finally stopped east of town at I-75 and Route 60. |

Recumbent Red and I visit Knob Creek, not planning a 100 mile day but it happened anyway. |

Route 62 was a beautiful ridge road for much of the day, later turned hilly. Notice the grooves in the narrow strip outside the white line. |

Route 60 west of Lexington became a six lane super highway (with paved shoulder). The sun set before I made town and I continued on through to the other side in the dark. A hundred miles before I sleep. |
