Summer
Walk
In
loneliness
I trek the
woods.
Rain-washed
bushes sprout over
Fitful
rustlings under cover.
Birds fat
on wild berries
Whistle
rhapsodies.
Skittering
chip monks
Sheer
energy in motion
Appear and
disappear
Here,
there, everywhere.
Frogs croak
in celebration
With glossy
coats
And virile
throats
Anticipating
a threat,
Loving
dampness in the heat.
Above-cathedral
ceiling
Soft
soothing canopy
Where rays
of sunlight
Dance in
between
Wild shades
of velvet green
And with
every entrance
Of the
balmy breezes
A gathering
of applause
Come from
admiring fans
A billion
clapping hands
To fill the
auditorium.
A slowing
down - a pause,
Applause
and more applause
Life lifted
and exalted,
Life - in
celebration of transition.
