Edward's Family

Edward, Candi, Austin, Kodee, Logan, Kaitlyn

I am Edward, the only son of Willard and Naomi.  Born on January 16, 1965, I was named after my father.  I lived in Ash Hopper Hollow in Hogtown until the age of 4 when we moved to South Carthage.  I attended Carthage Elementary and went to Smith County High where I graduated in May 1984.

During the summer of 1984, I ventured into the family feed business.  While the feed business was at its slow time, I also held down a public job with General Spring and Wire where I was a production supervisor.  While there I met and married Janet in December 1988.  During the summer of 1992, my first son, Austin Lea, was born.

I bought Cumberland Feed Mill from the late Albert Gore, Sr. At this time, I quit General Spring and Wire and went back into the feed business full-time.  During my ownership of the mill, I sold Master Mix feeds and was a 5-Star Dealer for five years.  I sold the business in June 1996.

At this time, I went to work at D.T. McCall’s as a warehouse manager.  After my separation from Janet, I met Candi through my cousin, Morris.  Candi and I married on July 4, 1998.  We live in my grandmother’s old home place on Jefferson Avenue.  We have two children, Logan Jay and Kaitlyn Victoria.  I have one stepson, Kodee.

In 1990, I joined the South Carthage Volunteer Fire Department, becoming Fire Chief in 2001.  I am also active with the Carthage Fire Department.

I am a member of Russell Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
