Food and Water
Leopard Geckos, like any other animal need food and water.  Leopard Geckos  have special needs for how they are fed and "watered."  So please read below.
Water and Humidity

Leopard geckos need a shallow water dish with clean water available at all times.  One of the most commonly used dishes is the tiny terra cotta plant saucer, but I use a fake rock water dish.  The water should be changed daily and the dish should be disinfected weekly with a 5% bleach solution
(be sure to rinse well and allow to dry thoroughly).

Try to maintain a tropical like humidity level of about 60% or more.  This can be done by misting the cage with a normal misting bottle, or with a special humidifier.  It is good to slightly mist your Leopard Gecko every now and then to help digestion of food.  If your Leopard Gecko does not like getting wet, then either reduce mistings, or just stop misting.  Please be courteous of your Gecko, but still be aware of its well being.

These are my Reptile Vitamins.  Try to find Vit. with the most calcium and Vit. D3.
Feeding

A leopard gecko's diet typically consists of primarily crickets and occasionally to diversify their diet, mealworms and waxworms.  Adult leopard geckos will also relish the occasional small pinkie mouse.  Make sure that the crickets fed to the leopard gecko are no larger than 1/2 the width of the gecko's head and no longer than the length of the gecko's head.  Not only can too large of prey insects be harmful to the lizard, they may be scared of prey that is too large for them to handle.

Juveniles and hatchlings should be fed daily, while adults
can be fed every other day.

The insects should be supplement with a quality reptile vitamin/mineral and calcium supplement daily for hatchlings and juveniles, and twice weekly for adults.  This is done by adding a small amount of the powder in a jar, introducing the insects, and gently shaking the jar to coat the insects with the mix.  You can also leave a small dish of calcium powder in the enclosure at all times as well.

Leopard geckos should be offered as many prey items as they will eat within 15 minutes.  If crickets are left uneaten in the enclosure, be sure to provide them with cricket food and moisture or they will stress your gecko by nibbling at it.  A small feeding dish is recommended to prevent the rapid dispersal of the insects and the loss of the vitamin/mineral coating.

All prey items should be
gut-loaded prior to being offered to your leopard gecko. Click here to read about Cricket Care.   Remember, you are what you eat!
GUT-LOAD: To feed a nutritous meal.
