The most important question to be answered to achieve inclusion on the World Heritage List, is the justification that makes the heritage unique in the eyes of the world. Therefore criteria regarding the convention and the guidelines have to be met. These criteria have been extensively elaborated in the Nomination dossier for Willemstad of June 1996.
